Recently (RED) and Starbucks teamed up to add yet another great corporation to the (RED) lineup! Starting on November 27th look for (RED) EXCLUSIVE beverages at any Starbucks. 5 cents from every single one of these beverages will go directly to the Global Fund! Stop by the Starbucks on State Street to check out the various delicious beverages and make a differences in the world at the same time.

Speaking of corporations helping out to make a differences in the world, Dell is launching new (RED) inspired artwork on their studio laptops! Check out the Dell Website to see what you think! Not only do these (RED) inspired laptops come in three cool designs, but they also are a great way to show (RED) support while remaining stylish.

Thank you everyone who showed up to the movie night! It was a success and hopefully we'll be able to show another one in a few more weeks. I hope everyone who was able to attend found it worthwhile.

Movie Showing!

This Tuesday we will be holding our first movie showing! Badge (RED) will be showing Five years of AIDS in Africa in Villas 4028 at 7:00. Come check out the movie and talk about the (RED) campaign.

Also, there will be a bake sale this upcoming Saturday night on State Street between Urban Outfitters and Potbellys. The bake sale is being sponsored by AIS and Amnesty so stop by. Keep your eyes out for more Badge(RED) activities coming soon

Bono Talks About (RED) on CNN

One of the most significant things that Bono explains is how, as a result of the funds provided by various countries, Malaria will be eliminated by 2015. This is significant because this information means everyday 3000 African children will no longer die as a result of a simple mosquito bite. If you want to hear what other great things Bono has to say, take the time to watch it.

Another interesting tidbit, an INSPI(RED) team recently climbed Everest and took this fascinating picture to prove it!

Why does (RED) need your help?

Recently I have received a lot of questions about why spreading (RED) on campus is such an important idea, I hope this answers many of those questions and spurs more students to get activated in this never ending cause.

The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, the recipient of all (RED) funds, announced on Monday, August 4th, that 97 countries have asked for $6.4 billion in grants this year – a nearly threefold increase. This is an encouraging sign that many low-income countries are preparing to ramp up their programs to battle AIDS, TB and malaria, and that the number of lives saved with The Global Fund’s help, approximately 2.5 million, will continue to rise.(RED) products have raised over $110 million for The Global Fund’s efforts to fight AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa. There is so much work that still needs to be done in the fight against AIDS and every step a badger student takes brings more hope to the citizens of Africa. To get more involved or learn more please keep an eye out for events coming soon.

This survey will help us further meet the needs at Wisconsin by letting us know what direction Badger (RED) should pursue in the future.
